Genial, Generous and Just

While we were on holiday in Bundeena we went through a place called Helensburgh where we stopped for lunch. In the park was a memorial to one Charles Harper, a mine manager. As epitaphs go, I thought it was a pretty good one – Genial, Generous and Just.
Interestingly, the memorial was erected by the miners who worked for him. In a time of exploitation of labour this says something in and of itself.
Charlie Harper must have been a good bloke.
